First we need a drill rack file in order to generate drill data output. This rack file contains the drill configuration for the manufacturer's drilling machine.
The rack file can be generated by means of a User Language Program (ULP) in the layout editor window. 

Click the RUN icon in the Action Toolbar. 

Choose the file 'drillcfg.ulp' in the file dialog window, then click 'OK'. 

The following message should appear: 'RUN: Drillcfg.ulp: finished.'

At this point the rack file is stored in the same directory as the layout file. It's name is 'layoutname.drl'.
